ANALYSIS
After hours or research and testing, we determined that the Stainless Steel French Press gives the best combination of durability and taste. See our findings in the table below. The winner will be in the top right of the scatter graph.
BREWING METHOD
Our analysis started by looking at the different types of coffee brewing methods. Each method was extensively researched to determine the quality and taste of the coffee it produced.

Although we love a good cup, we are not coffee experts at all. We scoured the web to find those who are. The following websites have some great content about different brewing methods and their pros and cons. Taste is admittedly subjective, so we aggregated their scores to determine our taste rankings:
CONSTRUCTION
If you have ever experienced the devastation of a broken glass carafe in the morning, you know that glass does not last. We looked at the construction and makeup of each coffee brewing type to find the most stubborn and long lasting.

Each brewing appliance started out with a durability score of 100. We then deducted points for:
REVIEWS
After narrowing down our choices, we scoured the internet for good quality reviews. These can be very hard to find now that fake and paid-for reviews are everywhere.
Sites like ReviewMeta and FakeSpot analyze reviews with their algorithm to eliminate suspicious ones and give an updated score.
The Stainless Steel French Press that is our winner had over 24,000 reviews on Amazon as of the time of this review. Review Meta gave it a score of 4.8 and removed zero fake reviews, which is pretty unheard of.

MATERIALS
The materials that each coffee brewing appliance is made of makes a huge difference in ruggedness and longevity.
GLASS & CERAMIC
There is pottery in museums that is thousands of years old, so this material can last. The issue is one drop or sudden change in temperature (or opera singer) can crack this material and leave it useless.
METAL
We like things made of metal at Stubborn Gear. Metal in general will outlast glass and plastic. However, not all metal is the same quality. Steel can rust, stainless steel has different grades, and aluminum and copper can have issues when placed next to dissimilar metals.
Our engineers are experts on finding products with the right metals that will last.
PLASTIC
Plastic has a bad reputation as cheap and brittle. Some of that is rightly deserved, but plastic can also be used effectively in the right location. All plastic formulation is not the same. Some can be brittle, some pliable, UV resistant or susceptible.
